Events

There's nothing worse than having nothing to do. All the staff are happy to assist you with activities of your choice and to introduce you to new interests.

So what do you want to do today?

We offer a host of activities to enjoy each and every day, including weekends. Musicians, dancers, guest speakers are only part of the story.

Scrabble, film nights, gardening, trips to museums, shopping centres or other places of interest.... they're all typical of the events you'll find on the calendar.

Of course, it's entirely up to you how you spend your time and how many activities you choose to join. But, whether you're a social butterfly or a more reserved individual, you'll never be short of ways to pass your time enjoyably at Lakeside.

We like to encourage individuals to continue with their interests and hobbies.

Lakeside does offer daily activities within the home. This includes the following:

  • In house movement to music
  • Dominoes, cards, board games, bingo & jigsaws
  • Crafts activities
  • Visits to local shops, seaside, pubs and stately homes
  • Soft ball throwing and cathing for co-ordination
  • Film nights
  • Walks and wheelchair rides within the grounds
  • Knit and natter
  • Reminiscence
  • Baking sessions
  • Singing to music sessions with song sheets

We also offer a variety of trips out for everyone to enjoy, these include:

  • Theatre trips
  • Pub lunches
  • Eden project
  • National Trust properties
  • The Devon and Cornwall coastline

Lakeside like to offer as many of their activities free of charge, so we host four events yearly to help raise money for our residents fund, allowing us to invest in keeping up to date with activities that are of interest. These events are held annually and we encourage all family, friends and the local community to help us make these a success.

  • Easter - Easet bonnet competitions, Easet egg hunts, raffle and much more
  • Summer fate - table top sales, raffles, cream teas and much more
  • Fireworks night - a selection of drinks and nibbles served before a spectacular fireworks display over the lakes
  • Christmas fate - Mulled wine, carols, minced pies and much more

You can see some of our past events in the news section to the right of this page.

Any religious needs are catered for.
